The battery storage project in Doberlug-Kirchhain has an output of 6.9 MW with a large storage capacity of 7.6 MWh. Battery cells from LG Chem are used. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and avoided network charges (§ 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the network of the Mitteldeutsche Netzgesellschaft Strom mbH. The battery storage system will be completed and put into operation in 2022. The plant is owned and operated by Pelion Green Future (Pelion).
