The battery storage project in Weißenthurm-Kettig, in Rhineland-Palatinate, has an output of 50 MW and a gross storage capacity of 100 MWh. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power) and to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and is connected to the Westnetz GmbH network.
